Covid-19 Partial Re-opening (updated June 7, 2020)
We are excited to announce a partial opening beginning Monday June 8, 2020. Once again it will be a work in progress so your patience and understanding will be greatly appreciated.
We are hiring more staff to help with our curb-side and phone service. This has been a challenging and oftentimes frustrating aspect for everyone. However, these new staff members may not have veterinary experience. The curb-side attendants will be taking your information as you pull into the clinic and passing it on to a staff member, reducing your need to call. Please, do not walk into the clinic without an escort or congregate by the front doors. Again, your patience and understanding is appreciated.
So what will this look like for our clients and staff?
All visitors/clients will be checked in from the parking lot by the curb-side attendant. Please wait in your vehicle. When we are ready for your pet's appointment, you will be escorted into the exam room. Face mask/covering will be required at all times while inside the clinic. For appointments we will only have one owner in the building. For end of life care please talk with a staff member when making the appointment to discuss special arrangements. Upon completion of the appointment we will check you out in the exam room.
We will still offer curb-side only appointments (we bring patient in while you wait in the car) for any client who desires - just let us know when scheduling or upon check-in.
During your appointment we ask that you please stay seated in the exam room. We will have a staff member hold your pet for the examination. Due to the close proximity required during an exam this will help with client/staff social distance. Due to the size of some exam rooms, your pet may be taken to a different room for the exam and then returned to you
Food and medication pick-ups will still be curb-side service only. Please call with your request and provide payment at that time. Your product will be outside ready for pick-up during our open hours. The curb-side attendant will get your information when you pull into the parking lot (and hopefully be able to bring your product out to your vehicle - again this will be a work in progress).
Here is a brief list of our new procedures:
- Providing separate entrance/exit doors (will be marked)
- Requiring face mask/covering by staff and client
- Allowing one client per appointment in building (exceptions made for end of life care)
- Checking out in exam room only - no clients in lobby except to enter/exit
- Picking up food/medication remains curb-side only
- Not permitting clients in other sections of clinic
- Disinfecting after each client
- Providing curb-side appointments upon request
We know the last several months have been challenging for everyone, and we will have more challendges to come as we navigate the next several months. We won't lie; there have been many a night our staff has gone home ready to pull their hair out, just like our clients being frustrated with trying to call into the clinic. But, we are proud to say, we have been able to stay open for you and your pet's needs.
We can't say "Thank You" enough!

Covid-19 Protocol Update Effective March 27, 2020
Changes regarding your visit to our clinic:
As many may have seen according to http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/ Warren County has confirmed cases of COVID-19. In order for us to continue to provide care for your pet, and protect our staff and clients, we will be instituting a "fully curbside" approach effective immediately. Starting March 27th only WCVC employees will be permitted in the building.
We're asking all clients to:
* Call our office once you are in our parking lot
* A staff member will check you in over the phone and someone will be out to your vehicle talk with you and retrieve your pet. All cats need to be in a carrier. All dogs will have a slip lead(s) (provided by clinic)
* We ask that you remain in your vehicle during the exam/procedure process and a doctor will call you (or come to your vehicle) once they are finished examining your pet or for updates as needed
* A staff member will speak to you via phone to collect payment. Credit/Debit card or Care Credit is preferred, but we do accept cash or check if needed
* We will continue curbside medication and food pickups
We understand these are difficult times for everyone. Our primary goal continues to be keeping you and our staff safe, while providing care to your pets. We greatly appreciate your understanding as we navigate these uncharted times together.

With so many news stories, it's understandable to be concerned about the Coronavirus. The safety of our employees and clients is always our top priority. At this time we are not limiting appointments and have no plans to close. However, we are implementing a few changes to help ensure the safety of both our employees and clients while providing care to your pet.
To decrease the risk of exposure we will be limiting the number of clients in our lobby in two ways. Going forward we are asking you to call from the parking lot and we will check your pet in for their appointment. Please wait in your car until a staff member indicates we are ready for you to come in. This same procedure will be followed for food and medication pick up. When possible we will collect payment over the phone and then bring your products out to your car. This will be our version of "curbside service" and will hopefully limit the spread of the virus.
Visits can sometimes be emotional and our staff prides itself in helping you through difficult times. At this time we are asking staff members to maintain social distance and avoid handshakes and hugs.
We kindly request you to reschedule your appointment if you are showing signs of illness or are not feeling well. We also ask you wait up to 14 days to schedule wellness appointments if you have recently traveled.
We recommend you maintain a 14 day supply of all medications and prescription diet your pet requires. Give us a call in advance so we may have your product(s) ready for your "curbside service".
Thank you for your understanding as we implement these precautions to help maintain a healthy and safe environment for you, your pets, and our staff. We appreciate your help in this matter and we hope to continue to provide the care and service that has always been associated with Warren County Veterinary Clinic.
Thank you,
The Staff and Owners at Warren County Veterinary Clinic
